Alley is such a wonderful senior girl! She is so loving and affectionate and will follow you everywhere and lean her head on your for a scratch. She is potty trained and can be trusted in the house alone (doesn't chew etc.). She is so cute when she carries around her toys or stares at you with those big old labby eyes. :) She would do best in a quiet household, as she does not like to be bumped or jumped on by other dogs. She does great with cats and older dogs who mind their manners. She is such a wonderful and loving companion and would be a great addition to any home. Alley is also AKC registered! UPDATE FROM THE FOSTER FAMILY: Alley is by far the sweetest and easiest dog in the world! She loves to be petted and needs lots of love and attention. One of her favorite things to do is sit next to you and let her pet her. When she's not asking to be pet, she loves to lounge around and relax with a chew toy or something else to play with. Despite her age, she still has plenty of energy and loves to go on walks! She also loves to play alone in the back yard, but she really likes to explore so you have to keep an eye on her.

Happy dog, happy dog.
Ok, so here is my serious pose.
UPDATE ON BRITT: Meet Britt! He is a wonderful 6 to 7 year old boy. Poor Mr. Britt was found as a stray and no one came to claim him. Thankfully, LFS stepped in to help this boy out. He has just finished heartworm treatment and is now in a foster home. Britt is very sweet and despite his hardships, he continues to "smile" for everyone. Keep checking back for more info on this awesome boy as we learn more about him. Open your heart and home to this special boy and you won't regret it!
I do love my squeeky toys!
Well, hello how are you doing?
Boy that treat sure was good, may I have another one please??
How I love my stuffed animals!
Just chillin..... Update On Mr Britt after Surgery...8/24/2010 I'm sore but feeling a lot better after my Fho surgeries.. They have me getting up and around... and in a lot less pain.... :-) I want to thanks LFS and everyone that has donated to help me feel better....

UPDATE FROM THE FOSTER MOM: This is the latest addition to the LFS crew. Miss Lacy is wonderful. I tried to get shots to show how miserably thin she is. The photos don't do her justice, true that photos add pounds. She is doing really well with my dogs. I think she was loved. My guess is someone lost their job and couldn't feed her. She loves to play with toys, loves to catch a ball, doesn't act afraid of anything. Someone spent time with her. She isn't house trained. Lacy definitely cannot live with cats. When she gets a glimpse of the cats she is so obsessed that, she walks back and forth for literally hours without sitting down. I asked the vet whet did she think Lacy was mixed with and she said what I thought, German Pointer/Lab. Lacy is still wonderful, very affectionate, no aggression.
Just look at how beautiful I am today!
I'm just waiting on my forever home....

Macy is a 3 months chocolate lab mix who had a rough start on life. She is very cute and happy and she loves everyone, especially other dogs. She is being treated for her skin issues and in not time her coat will look a lot better. She was in a scary shelter for a while and she is ready for a new life. Open your heart to Macy and you will not be disappointed. UPDATE FROM THE FOSTER DAD: Macy is doing great. She is getting bigger, her coat is now a wonderful dark chocolate. She is a typical lab puppy. She loves everyone, people and dogs, does not have a worry in the world, and try to gets her nose into everything to check it out. She is such a happy puppy, she will make a great companion for any lab or kid.
I am just the most perfect girl! |
Meet Rocky! This big beautiful chocolate boy is around 2 years old and really laid back. He was found wandering the streets with Scout (also up for adoption). Rocky was apparently someone's dog in the past as he knows a few commands, such as sit and down. He walks well on a leash but could use a tiny bit of a refresher course. Unfortunately Rocky came up a slight HW positive and is currently being treated. He will be available for adoption in a few weeks. Keep checking back for more info as we learn more about this awesome guy. *Rocky and Scout would make a great pair for anyone looking for 2 great dogs.
Looking for a quiet home to recover from his heartworm treatment.

Meet Scout! This yellow boy is about 1 year old and super sweet! He was found wandering the streets with Rocky (also up for adoption). Scout is very laid back and calm. He gets along well with other dogs and he adores people. Even despite all the new things going on around him, he still manages to have a "smile" on his face. Scout is new to our program, so we are still learning about him and his personality, so check back soon for more information on him. *Scout and Rocky would make a great pair for anyone looking for 2 great dogs. UPDATE FROM THE FOSTER FAMILY: Mr. Scout is doing well. He was pretty zonked the rest of Saturday and has continued to be pretty low key. He and our girls have had a few good play sessions and it is obvious that he is most relaxed when he is around them. They all got to go for a walk this morning and although he wasn't a fan of the preparation process, once he had the leash on he did great! He is house-trained, does great in a crate, and overall is taking quite nicely to his new domestic lifestyle. Scout is a real sweetheart and loves to give gentle kisses to everyone. He is also a real looker -- and as you can see from the pictures, he thinks so too!

Meet our latest addition, Sonny. He is about 10 months old, completely vetted and already neutered. Sonny knows some commands and seems to have a good idea about pottying outside. This is one very sweet little boy who just aims to please.

Sunshine is a young yellow lab, most likely between 7 and 8 months. Sunshine was found tied in the yard of an abandoned house. She has been in foster care for 2 months, as she needed to learn manners and how to live with humans. It does not appear that she had ever lived inside before being rescued. That has all changed now; she learns quickly and greets strangers with a big lick and tail wagging. Sunshine is sweet and friendly with a big smile and tail that wags constantly. Sunshine gets along very well with other dogs. She also loves children, as you can see from the photos. She enjoys running around the back yard with her foster sisters. She is all lab when it comes to water-water bowl, pool or puddles are fun for her to play in-she even loves mud! She is doing great on her crate and housetraining. Sunshine needs practice walking on a leash as well as learning basic commands. Of course, she will always sit for a treat! Sunshine is now ready for her forever home. Will it be yours?

Meet Wilma! Wilma is about one year old. She loves to lie on the grass and roll in it. Wilma rode well in the car, stayed quiet the whole time. She is not very big so she will be a good size, probably not more than 60-65 pounds. Wilma is a great girl just looking for some love; she just comes close to you and wants to be petted. She even puts her head in your hand; just so sweet and loving. She is a very good looking lab as well. She is great with other big dogs (she spends most of her days playing at doggie daycare), however, Wilma would do best in a home without smaller dogs. She is starved for human attention; she listens and wants to please so she is easy to train: she really just wants to be by your side. Open your heart and home to Wilma and you won't be disappointed. UPDATE FROM THE FOSTER DAD: So far so good. Wilma is housebroken, very playful, and very sweet. She loves to play with Macy. No trouble at all. More pictures and more info on Wilma will be coming soon!
