MEET BIG BOY! Big boy came to us from a shelter where he spent the last YEAR. We can’t imagine living in a shelter for a whole year. This poor boy deserves a new life! He is heartworm positive so he will be neutered and then treated this week.

FOSTER UPDATE 02/05/2014: Before coming to stay with us Jake spent over a year in a shelter. From our experience this meant he would be a project. We would have to house-train him, teach him how to live in a house with people and other dogs, convince him it’s not OK to howl at the moon all night, and my biggest fear of all was the question of how he would act around our 9-month old baby.

To our delight we haven’t had to deal with any of the issues we are used to with a new foster. From the day Jake moved in he has been a joy to be with. Sure there was the first week or two when we were both trying to figure each other out but we could tell from day one that he was a great dog.

These days he enjoys cuddling on the couch in between a lively game of chase or a good wrestle. He is amazing with the baby, so patient. For me the best part is that he never misses an opportunity to wish me good night with one last cuddle before lights out.
