This year has started on a good foot for LFS. We were awarded a prestigious prize by the Pedigree Foundation, the “Breed Rescue of the Year Award”. So on February 7, 2009 we flew to New York to receive a big award at a gala dinner. We were very honored and happy. We thank all our volunteers and foster homes, without whom we would not even exist. PEDIGREE® HONORS CUMMING, GA. ORGANIZATION FOR THEIR DEDICATION TO LABRADOR RESCUE
Labrador Friends of the South, Inc. Awarded “Breed Rescue of the Year”
WHO: PEDIGREE® recently honored Labrador Friends of the South, Inc. of Cumming, Ga. with the “Breed Rescue of the Year” award for their efforts to rescue and better the lives of Labrador Retrievers.
In addition to their homebase in Cumming, Ga., LFS is also active across the entire Southeastern region of the U.S. including Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, and the Carolinas. LFS is a non-profit organization that is devoted to rescuing Labradors and educating the community on spaying and neutering. They also work closely with families interested in adopting Labradors to ensure the dog is provided a suitable environment and home. It is in recognition of their dedication to bettering the lives of Labradors that PEDIGREE® presented Smith with this honor.
WHAT: Each year, PEDIGREE® partners with the Westminster Kennel Club to execute an awards program that recognizes individuals, organizations and shelter/rescue groups that lend a hand to help homeless dogs in their area. The awards, handed out on February 7, 2009, were given to those who work tirelessly to raise funds for dog-related causes.
Winners received an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City where they were recognized for their charitable contributions at the annual PEDIGREE® Awards Dinner. They were also given box-seat tickets to the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.
