Dean – Adopted 12/02/2018

Happy Gotcha Day Dean!

MEET DEAN! Hi, my name is Dean! I may be old and grey, but I have a lot of life left to live. I may not be a cute puppy anymore, but I will love you all the same. I will devote myself to you and protect your heart with all my might. I will appreciate you and cuddle you when you’re feeling down. I will be grateful for you, and I will be your constant companion until the end. I will give you all of my heart and my soul. I will be yours forever if you just give me the chance.

I am a super sweet boy, around 10 years old. My previous mommy became homeless and couldn’t care for me anymore, so she took me to the shelter in hopes I would find a new family. I didn’t like the shelter…it was cold and scary. I was so happy to get out that I smiled throughout the whole car ride and rested my head on my rescuer’s shoulder to say thank you.

I love to ride in the car and go for walks. I promise I will go on walks with you and help you get your exercise! I am housebroken and crate trained, and I know some commands. I know how to sit, shake, and lay down. I like other dogs and I am even calm around cats. People are my favorite, and I love to have my ears scratched. Food and treats are some of the greatest things ever. I wish I could get those all the time. I would be so happy to have a nice, warm bed to lie on and a family of my own to love.

My nice rescuers took me to the vet and found out I had a broken tooth. I had some bloodwork done before my dental procedure to fix it, and it turns out I have something called Cushing’s disease, which makes my body produce too much cortisol. It can be managed with medication, and they’ve already started me on it so I can start feeling better. I will just need to have the medicine everyday and regular visits with a veterinarian to make sure it is keeping me on the right track. I know that can be scary for anyone who might want to adopt me, so if you have questions, you can email my rescuers at Lots of dogs like me do great on the medicine and are living happy lives, so I am really glad that my rescuers are giving me the treatment I need!

If you want to help my saviors with the cost of my dental procedure and bloodwork, please go to They would be so thankful for your help!”
