MEET MISS POPPY! I am a 50 pound mixed girl, around 3 years old. I came to LFS in October with my puppies. I was adopted in November and have been living in a wonderful home. Unfortunately, me and my sister have not been getting along recently. I need to be in a single pet household! (This is a must-NO CATS EITHER). I need to be in a home with older children also. I love to cuddle on my persons lap, wrap up in blankets, and lay in the sunshine.

I need to be in a very active household who will take me hiking, and running. I think that I am the boss sometimes, so my owners will need to be strong and keep up on my training.

My favorite foods/treats are: carrots, apples, blueberries, bananas, PB and ice cubes! (So refreshing) I love to play with long squeaky toys so I can thrash them around and chew on bones. I can also catch a tennis ball in air! (Air dog)

I know how to sit, get on my place, walk on a leash, wait for my food and wait before going out the door. I like to jump on my humans when I get excited so we are working on keeping my feet on the floor.

I don’t like loud noises like motorcycles or loud trucks. My training has helped me learn that they aren’t so scary, but I will need to continue my training to help my confidence.

Miss Poppy is still in the need of a foster or forever home as an only dog.  Whomever adopts her would be able to go to training with Poppy to learn what she knows.

Update 07/15:
Today we “celebrate” Poppy’s 1 year anniversary of being returned to LFS.
We are very sad Poppy hasn’t found her forever home!
While the staff at the vet clinic loves her and she loves them, we are all ready for Poppy to have a place to call home.
Since we are a foster based rescue, all of our fosters have other dogs.
Miss Poppy has to be an only dog household.
Is there anyone out there you might know that would be willing to foster that doesn’t have any other animals?

Update 07/03: Miss Poppy is ready for the weekend.  She says she is ready for a forever home!

Update 06/01: Miss Poppy hanging out at adoption day.  She was hoping someone was coming to meet her, to give her a forever home. She is a good girl.  She just wants to be your only fur baby.  She is very well trained.

Update 06/01: Poppy went on a field trip today two Sims Lake Park.  She had a good time exploring all the new sights and smells.  She enjoyed walking around the lake multiple times and was eager to pose for pictures (I might’ve bribed her a little bit with treats)!

Update 05/17: Today Miss Poppy had a play date with volunteer Miss Mary.  Poppy had some fun with her new toys but she definitely needs to run off steam.  If you Follow Miss Poppy,  she has to be a only dog household.  Which means no dog parks, no play date with other dogs or cats.  She is boot camped trained.  Since she has to be an only dog we are looking for a foster home or forever.  She would be your best friend.
