Happy Gotcha Day Honey!

MEET HONEY & VALENTINE PUPS! LFS just rescued a second family and crazy enough everyone in this family could be twins to Lady and her pups! In honor of V-Day approaching quickly, we have decided to call these babies the Valentine’s Litter. Their momma is Honey, and she gave birth to 9 beautiful puppies (some chocolate, some black) yesterday. Our rescue transporter was on her way to the shelter to meet Honey (who we thought was nowhere near ready to give birth) when she started having her babies, so the rescue quickly became a rush situation. We needed to get Honey and her babies out of there and into a safe environment quickly. This family is now at our vet’s office, safe and sound, momma is resting, and all the pups are doing well. With Lady’s pups and Honey’s, LFS now has 19 precious babies under a month old in our care. They will stay at our vet’s office for a while to make sure everyone is doing okay, but unfortunately that means the cost of caring for these families has just grown way more than we expected.

Please help us care for these babies…We would greatly appreciate it!!

We will update as soon as we can on sexes of the Valentine pups! Update on Lady’s pups is coming soon!!

The Valentine pups and their mom Honey will be available for adoption after the pups are old enough and have received their vaccines. If you would like to adopt one of these babies, please fill out an application at labradorfriends.com/how-to-adopt. We will likely be starting a waiting list for these puppies, as we have already had to start one for Lady’s pups as well. As always, feel free to email labfriendinfo@gmail.com with any questions. Thanks!

Please help us care for Momma Honey and her Valentine’s pups…since they will remain at the vet for some time caring for a not-so-little family can quickly adds up in costs, we would be greatly appreciative for any and all donations that our wonderful followers may find in their hearts to provide for us. Thank you!

Update from foster 04/01/17: Honey is recovering from her surgery & beginning to enjoy her new foster surroundings. Honey has bonded with our Chocolate Lab, Mollie. Has slept comfortably outside her crate, yet, is willing to use it when we are out.  Her jet black hair is gaining a nice scheen.  After birthing & feeding 9 pups, she is slowly having her utters receed.  Most important is Honey is loving, gentle & has a sweet personality.
Being a small Lab, she will soon become a lap dog. Smart!  Tells us when she needs to go out and is NOT a barker. She is ready to take on the responsibility of loving a forever family.
