MEET WILSON!! Wilson is an adorable, special 6-7 month old chocolate boy with a sad story. Unfortunately he had a rough start to life, but that’s all in the past now. A couple months ago, Wilson ended up at a shelter in Alabama with severe injuries that would have been consistent with being used as a bait dog for dog fighting. A rescuer saved him just in time and brought him to a nice vet who helped nurse him back to health. Because his injuries were so severe, Wilson’s right front leg had to be amputated, and he lost most of his right ear. He has taken all of this in stride though and has not let anything stop him from loving life. He gets around great as a tripod. The wonderful people who helped save Wilson asked LFS to take him in and find him his forever home, and he arrived to us a couple days ago.
Wilson has moved into his foster home and in just the short time that he’s been there, he has shown his resilience. He has been very well mannered, is great with the other dogs, and is house-trained. He is super sweet and laid back. Wilson has adapted very quickly and can get around just fine, including going up and down stairs. Even more amazing is the fact that he is completely comfortable with people and other dogs, despite what he’s been through. He is so handsome and loving; we’re really glad he is getting a second chance at the life he deserves.
