FOSTER UPDATE 12/03/18:Diego is getting in the holiday spirit! He was such a good boy during his “photo shoot” today. He even tolerated the elf costume . Isn’t he just the cutest little elf you’ve ever seen though? Diego is still patiently waiting for his forever family so come meet him this Saturday at our adoption event! We promise this sweet boy will make your holiday season extra merry and bright!
FOSTER UPDATE 11/05/18: Diego is a super sweet, happy, handsome guy. He sleeps on his bed in our room at night and doesn’t make a peep until we get up. He has an adorable fascination with looking out the windows in our house. Squeaky toys are his absolute favorite. Right now he is obsessed with a toy hedgehog and carries it with him all over the house. He has a typical amount of energy for a dog his age. He loves to run and play in our neighborhood dog park. Diego gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playfully chasing them around. Almost like a doggy version of a game of tag. He walks pretty well on a leash and knows that he is only supposed to go potty outside (no accidents in the house at all). He also enjoys going for rides in the car and stole everyone’s heart during a recent trip to the pet supply store. He has the cutest ears you’ve ever seen and beautiful golden brown eyes. His coat is sleek and shiny and he doesn’t mind bath time one bit. He has mastered “sit” and “shake” (especially when a treat is involved) and we are working on other commands. Diego would love to meet you so come on out to our adoption event this Saturday!
FOSTER UPDATE 10/10/2019: Diego has been settling into his new foster home and is doing well. He loves to go on walks and play with toys. He plays with his doggie foster sister and loves cuddling with his foster family. Diego sometimes sleeps with his head off the dog bed, and it is just the cutest thing! He loves to look out the window and survey the land.In just a few days, Diego will be off of exercise restriction and can be a normal, active dog again. I’m sure he’s looking forward to being able to run around the backyard!
FOSTER UPDATE 7/16/18: Diego is an absolute love bug. He is super sweet and super friendly. Oh and REALLY smart. We think he would make an excellent dock diver, speed and agility dog or hiking/running partner. He’s fast, loves to play fetch and chase his foster siblings around the yard. Unfortunately he’s going through heartworm treatment so he has to stay calm, and he’s not the happiest about it, but soon he’ll be able to be as active as he wants. Diego is house trained and crate trained. Not one accident or item chewed. He would be a wonderful addition to a family ready to love on this super sweet guy. Think about making Diego a part of your family today!!
I’m very interested in Diego.
Just two weeks ago I lost my dog Hunter; Hunter was 14 years old and I had adopted him from Labrador Rescue 2007, and he was the most wonderful dog we ever had!!! He died of cancer in my arms just licking us with love and saying goodbye.
Now I’m retired and I would love to get a friend to spend these years with. Retirement is my life, and I’d love a dark or light lab or Golden who also loves to walk. I have been looking in all the shelters,,, no luck.
Diego is a great dog! He is an active boy and would love to be someone’s walking, running, or hiking buddy. If you’re interested in adopting, you can fill out an adoption application at labradorfriends.com/how-to-adopt. You can email questions about Diego to labfriendinfo@gmail.com, but a lot of information about him can be found in his write up and foster updates above 🙂
