Happy Gotcha Day Sandy!
MEET SANDY! Sandy is a handsome 6 year old, male yellow lab. He was found as a stray, and sadly no one came to claim him from the shelter. He is now safe with LFS and will get a second chance to find his forever! Sandy is a wonderful dog. He’s a big, tall boy at 86 pounds, but don’t let that deter you, he’s a big softie! Sandy loves to just sit there for you to scratch his head or pet his belly. He will gladly back up so you can give him “butt scratches” too!
Sandy had to have belonged to someone in the past, as he seems to have been well cared for and has good manners. He knows how to sit, down, and shake (with both paws!), and he walks well on the leash. He appears to be crate-trained, and although we don’t know for sure if he’s housebroken yet, I have a feeling he is. He was an angel in the car during the hour long drive to the vet’s office, laying quietly in the back seat or sticking his nose out of the window to sniff the air.
Sandy is a pretty mellow boy who shows you his playful side when you pull out a ball or a squeaky toy. He’s content to play with toys by himself or to play fetch with you, but sometimes he’ll trick you into playing a game of keep away with him instead of giving the ball back. Silly dog!
Sandy seems to get along well with other dogs and didn’t react to any dogs in the lobby at the vet’s office. We don’t know how he is with cats, but we will try our best to get him cat tested this week.
Sandy is ready to go to a foster home! If you’d be interested in fostering Sandy, visit https://www. labradorfriends.com/foster-2/ or email us at labfriendinfo@gmail.com!
