Happy Gotcha Day!!

Update on Baby: She is a great dog who has come a long way already.  She is still a little skittish but she is getting better every day.  She loves to go for car rides and will sit quickly if you pick up her leash. She enjoys being groomed and will sit for quite a long period of time if you brush her. She doesn’t take well to sudden movements or loud noises so, we recommend a home without children or a home with older kids.  She has almost mastered walking on a leash and she is now walking a couple of miles a day at a slow to moderate pace. She loves company and does not like being left alone for long periods of time so we think she would be a wonderful companion to an older person or a single person who works from home. She does not seem interested in other dogs but probably because right now she is still too confused and worried about what is going on around her.  Baby clearly did not have an easy life up to now but she is slowly learning the world out there can be fun. She is a wonderful dog who will make the right family very happy. She just needs someone willing to wait until she relaxes and shows us even more her sweet personality.

Baby will be 5 in May.  She was shaking and frightened when I picked her up on Friday.   She and another yellow lab were transported from NC.  The only family Baby had known in all her years had to give her up.  They had her from 6 weeks old.  They had lost their home 2 years ago and moved into a rental and couldn’t have the dog inside.  Baby has lived in an outside pen since then.  Baby rode 9 hours in a car with strangers and didn’t sleep the whole time.  She did take potty breaks but we separated the dogs because they didn’t know each other and both were experiencing a big change. Baby is the sweetest, most loving and loyal dog I’ve ever been around.  She’s very small.
