MEET ARGOS!! This handsome boy just busted out of the shelter! He is about 2-3 years old and was unfortunately an owner surrender to the shelter after his family could no longer afford to care for him. Argos is a friendly guy who seems to love everyone he meets. He has done well with all the other dogs he’s met so far and just seems to want to play. He loves belly rubs and happily plopped over for one when I first met him. Argos knows a few commands already but could use a refresher course on leash manners. He is a strong boy and pulls quite a bit when excited, so we’ll work on that! Argos is an active boy who will need a home where he will not be left unattended in the yard, as he can jump a 4ft fence. He rode great in the car for an hour long drive and quietly looked out the window or slept the whole time.
Sadly we just found out that Argos is heartworm positive. He has started treatment and will be rid of those pesky worms in no time! During heartworm treatment, dogs must rest and remain as calm as possible, so Argos will need a quiet foster home where he can hang out while he undergoes treatment. Argos has been updated on his vaccines, will be neutered in the coming days, and has started heartworm treatment. All of this is quite costly, and full course of heartworm treatment ends up around $1200. If you can find it in your heart to donate to Argos’ care, please visit labradorfriends.com/donate-2 or use the button in the post. All of us here at LFS and Argos especially would greatly appreciate your help!
