MEET MADDOX!! This adorable guy came in with Angelina and Zahara. He’s about 8 months old and as sweet as can be. Maddox is a goofy boy who loves giving kisses. The shelter said he was super nervous and wouldn’t walk on a leash, but he has done well since leaving the shelter and has greeted everyone with a wagging tail and smile on his face! Maddox seems to love other dogs and would be happy to have a buddy to play with. He’s working on kennel training and would benefit from some obedience training as well. Maddox is a super lovable guy and would make a great addition to an active family.

Foster update 08/02/2020: Mr Maddox’s personality continues to come out as he gets more and more comfortable in his foster home. He is a big goofy boy with lots of puppy energy and curiosity. He loves to chase after balls, throw his chew toys in the air and run zoomies around the yard every morning. He loves to play with his foster pals (including the kitty) and I believe he would do well in any active home that has a fenced yard.
During the day, after a walk and playtime, he settles down nicely and hangs with his foster siblings acting as my work assistants. Sometimes he even participates in my meetings by speaking and photo bombing video conference calls – he has a lot of fans in my co-workers! After work, in the evenings, he loves to cuddle next to me and just get a lot of ear and belly rubs.
He hasn’t had any accidents in his crate, the car or the house in weeks. Maddox sleeps all night in his crate but initially had some anxiety about being in his crate during the day when I would have to leave for a few hours. I’m happy to report, he seems to have overcome this anxiety and handles being crated very well!
Maddox walks well on a leash using a harness and is learning basic obedience commands. He sits consistently and is learning ‘down’ and ‘come’. He is very food motivated and uses a slow feed bowl to help him not to gobble too fast.
Maddox is such a great puppy and he is excited to get his forever home!!
Foster update 07/09/2020:Maddox has really been settling in nicely. He’s great in his crate at night and sleeps the whole night through. He does have some mild separation anxiety when I have to leave for an hour or two here and there and place him in his crate.. We’ve been working on this a lot and he’s doing much much better! Feeding him in his crate has helped tremendously with him feeling like his crate is a nice safe place to be. Outside Maddox has a new favorite toy.. A Jolly ball! I purchased for my two fur kids a while back and they are petrified of it and will not go near it but Maddox adores it. Maddox still is very friendly with the cat and overall is doing well. I walk all three of the dogs on a tandem leash every morning. The first week was a little odd but now Maddox walks on the leash with a harness like a pro..
Foster update 06/28/2020: Maddox is settling right in… very wiggly puppy but has started to settle down more quickly. Still not interested in cat. Had friends over last night and he peed in excitement but not shy or wary of
either the men or women…
unfortunately it was not an option!He did whine and cry a lot at this morning at 230am to wake me up…we got outside in time for him to pee and poop so I’m taking that as a good sign and a win lol.Whatever his story he’s a very happy boy… I can tell that his gait is a little wonky but he does not appear to be in any pain and runs up and down the stairs and in the yard like a champ.
