MEET HEAVEN!! This cutie is one of the newest members of LFS. She is approximately 6 months old and was rescued from the shelter after being surrendered with her sister, Cookie, because her owners were moving. They do not appear to be bonded. Heaven is a very energetic, happy-go lucky girl who loves everyone she meets. She is a little shy in new situations and sometimes needs some encouragement to go through doorways she has never been through, but she quickly adjusts and goes back to being her happy self. Heaven used to live with children ages 5-13, so she is good with kids, however she gets so excited sometimes that she may accidentally knock over a very small child. At 46 pounds, Heaven is a medium sized lab mix and likely will not get too much bigger. She will sit for a treat but could use a refresher course on basic obedience and leash walking. She appears to be crate trained and was reported by her previous owner to be housetrained, though we have not yet placed her in a foster home to be able to confirm. Like a typical lab puppy, Heaven is a chewer and especially likes to chew on socks, so she will need to go to a home where she can be supervised to ensure she does not ingest something she’s not supposed to. Heaven appears to be good with other dogs and may do better with an active dog that will want to play. She would make a great addition to an active family!
Foster update 08/24: Heaven the 6 month old pup came to our foster home yesterday and she’s all wiggles! She’s good with the other dogs but more interested in people. She had a dry night in the crate and we didn’t hear her cry after the first few minutes.
Heaven is super sweet and loves to be petted (in fact she insists on it!). It takes her a minute to warm up to a new person or situation but once she does she’s a champion cuddler. Heaven was spayed Friday and is recovering nicely. A lot has changed in her life since she was surrendered by her family due to a move. She’s understandably cautious at first but in only 24 hours she’s really come around and we can see her true sweet disposition. She’s a bit of a “Velcro dog” who prefers to stay close to her human’s side. She’ll make a great companion!
