Foster update 04/23/2021Jim is still working on his house training but is doing really well if we are consistent with him. He sleeps through the night in the big bed. We have been taking him to daycare a few times a week and we have really seen his confidence grow since he has started going to daycare. He is less fearful of new people and he is excited instead of afraid when he meets new dogs. He continues to be a playful, active, goofy puppy who likes to go on long walks and loves to play with chew toys. He is very proud that he has recently mastered sitting for treats and anytime we are in the kitchen I find him sitting waiting for treats.
Foster update 03/30/2021:Jim met my brother’s dog Zeus over the weekend and they had a wonderful time playing for hours. He went to his first day of doggie daycare today so he can get some more exposure to other dogs. He is a very sweet boy with a very docile personality. He is still absolutely confused by the idea of cats. He isn’t aggressive towards cats he just is very curious.
Foster update 03/20/2021: Jim went to the dog part for the first time today. At first he was timid and submissive around the other dogs but after a few minutes he started to come out of his shell and play. He has a submissive demeanor and played nicely with all of the dogs regardless of size. One dog did try to bully him and he didn’t stick up for himself so he probably would do best in a home with another dog that won’t try to constantly dominate him because I don’t think he will stick up for himself. Jim also met some kids today at the dog park and was thrilled to meet them. He is shy at first with new people but is very sweet to everyone. These pictures are of Jim worn out after playing with all his new friends. Jim is doing really well with his house training and leash training. He is not a fan of his crate and is also not a fan of being separated from his people. He recently discovered his bin of toys and seems to be learning to play and coming out of his shell.
Foster update 03/15/2021: Jim is setting in to his foster home. He gets a bit overwhelmed with new things so we are taking things slow. He is enjoying toys and treats and gets along well with the senior dogs and he appears to be scared of cats. He likes to bark at them and then run away. We are working on crate training and walking on a leash. Jim loves to be outside. He loves to lay in the chairs on our patio and when he first came to our home we had to convince him he was allowed to come into the house. He is very sweet and is starting to come out of his shell we are enjoying seeing his personality blossom. He really seems to enjoy the company of other dogs so he will likely do best in a home with at least one other dog. He hasn’t had any accidents in the house but if he gets too excited or overwhelmed he will pee a little.
