Happy Gotcha Day Benny!

MEET BENNY!!! This handsome boy is a little over a year old now. Benny has been crossing his paws and hoping for a second chance for several months. He is a very energetic dog who needs an experienced owner willing to give him some stability in his life. Benny is very active with a LOT of energy, so a pretty active home is a must. He gets along well and loves to play with active/playful female dogs. He would love to go to a home with a doggy sister that could keep up with him. Benny is a super sweet dog who appears to love everybody. However, he can be a little in your face if allowed, so he needs someone willing to give him appropriate boundaries. He has shown some low level resource guarding around his food bowl, so Benny needs to go to a home with NO kids. Benny is housebroken, crate trained, and knows some commands, like sit and down. He has been in training boot camp for the past couple of months, where he has learned some more manners. At only around 45 pounds, Benny is a smaller dog and will not get much bigger. He would make an excellent running partner for someone!

Foster Update 06/22/19: Benny has been with us for a few days now and is SO happy to finally be out of boarding and into a foster home!   He wasted no time becoming best buds with Watson (our other LFS foster) and even won the approval of the boss lady of the house, Miss Dixie. Benny has taken full advantage of the unlimited doggie toys and never misses an opportunity to snuggle with us on the couch.  Don’t worry, no sliver of space is too small for him to get comfortable in .  He is crate trained and has not had any accidents in the house so far – way to go Benny!!  He loves to go for long walks and play at the park. Although he pulls a bit on the leash, we are actively working to correct that. Overall he is pretty well mannered and even knows a few commands.  He also understands that rough play with Watson is reserved for outside playtime (boys will be boys 🤷‍♀️) and knows how to behave once we come back inside.  Benny has the cutest little ears you’ll ever see and weighs about 40 pounds or so.  Some of the best things come in small packages, right?  Don’t miss your chance to adopt this sweetheart!  He’s a real winner in our book!
