Meet YORK. York is part of THE CANDY PUPS!! These puppies are so super sweet, we couldn’t help but name them after our favorite candies! They are about 8 weeks old. Their names are Butterfinger, Reese, Heath, Snickers, and York. They will be going to foster homes in the coming days, so keep checking back for updates on these adorable little friends! If you are interested in fostering please contact Christie at labfriendchristie
Foster update 11/02: York is now 17 weeks and he is approximately 21 pounds. He is crate-trained and house-trained (as long as he is kept on a schedule), sleeps through the night in his crate in the bedroom, knows sit and will come when called (most of the time). He is still all puppy and has a tendency to use the furniture, cabinets, or any other stationary object (like his foster parents) to help him stop on the hardwoods. He still gets along well with all 5 of his foster furry siblings, although he is very independent and will happily curl up on a dog bed somewhere quiet when he wants to take a nap. He does very well with kids (was loved on by 8 kids at Halloween for about 2 hours) and in crowds (he’s been shopping at a dog-friendly Outlet Mall). He gives great kisses and is definitely a cuddle bug. York is hoping to meet his forever family this Saturday!

Foster update 10/30: York had a grand adventure this weekend. He went with his foster parents to Asheville, NC for a mini-vacation. He rode beautifully in the car on the trip up and back. We stayed at the Hilton in Biltmore Park (which we highly recommend!). York was the talk of the hotel – both guests and staff – and had tons of fans by the time we left. Some would even wait for us in the lobby (knowing we would be going outside) just so they could meet York. He was so well behaved! We went shopping, had dinner on the patio of several restaurants, enjoyed the beautiful leaves and went hiking at the arboretum. We learned that York loves to cuddle and take naps curled up next to one of us. He did well on the leash especially considering he had to be on it all weekend. Physically he has filled out and his coat is beautiful. His personality is really coming through too. He is full of sass and energy. He has funny little noises that accompany the head tilts that help convey his message. He loves to play with our youngest pup Max as well as our two 3 year old black labs. He imitates them and does his best to keep up. He sleeps peacefully in his crate at night with his stuffed ladybug. He is a joy to be around. York will be a loving energetic addition to some lucky family.
Foster update 10/15: York has been with us for a little over two weeks. During that time he has come out of his shell. He has learned to go up and down the outside stairs, He has been phenomenal in his crate during the day while we are at work and at night. For potty training, as long as we stick to the schedule he’s been great. York and Max have learned to play and that has been a hoot! We don’t have cats so can’t tell you about that but he does great with our 5 dogs. He did very well with our two young nephews that stayed with us last week.
This picture was from a couple weeks ago. York has definitely grown since this picture was taken, even growing into this ears some. He is still adorable and his ears are key to his expressions. York has beautiful markings.
This was from Thanksgiving day. The boys, York (black with white paws) and Max (blonde), we’re playing in the sunshine while dinner was cooking.
York (black with white paws) also likes Max’s bed and requests to share. Max (blonde) is our 11 month old LFS alum and they have become best buddies.
I want to own him how can i do that?
Hi Jessica, If you are interested in adopting York please fill out our adoption application. Once approved you can set up an appointment to meet him.
Thank you!
Kristin
