Happy Gotcha Day Dennis!
MEET DENNIS!!! Handsome Dennis (Rocky’s brother) is a 2 year old lab who was left at a north Georgia shelter by his owner. Like his brother, he was so traumatized in the shelter that he laid on the floor and would not get up to walk. When shelter volunteers contacted us and we saw the condition he was in, we knew we had to bring him into the LFS family. Dennis is very timid, but has started coming out of his shell a bit with the love and care of the veterinary staff.  He has an eye infection that is being treated, he will receive all of his vaccines, and will be neutered in the coming days. Through all of this, Dennis continues to show us his sweet and gentle temperament. It is heartbreaking to see these amazing pups go through horrible situations like this, but we know in a short time Dennis will be confident and relaxed and able to truly enjoy his life!
Dennis will be ready for a foster or forever home later this week. If you would like to adopt Dennis, please complete an adoption application at https://labradorfriends.com/how-to-adopt/. If you are already approved, please email labradorfriend@gmail.com. With just a little love and reassurance, Dennis will be a fabulous addition to any family.

Foster Update 06/25/2017: Dennis, a two-year-old Lab-mix, just finished his first week with his fosters after he had surgery to be neutered and to repair entropion (an inverted eyelid). He is healing well and doing great! Dennis is a loving and quiet dog. We learned that Dennis is easily frightened – strange noises, doorways, etc, but we are working on these issues, and he has already gained a great deal of confidence and trust with his fosters. He loves people! The way he meets and greets new people you would think he is a politician!

Dennis is doing well with crate training and has learned that his crate can be a safe space for him. We are still working on house training, but he is making progress. Dennis is a good eater and a quiet dog, with little to no barking.

While Dennis is great with children, a calm home atmosphere would work well for him. He loves just being with you, so someone who is home a lot of the time would be great for him.
