MEET DIXIE. Miss Dixie is about 2 years old, She’s so sweet! Knows sit. Stands in her back legs and wiggle/ jumps for treats. But doesn’t jump on you. More info to come….
Foster update 08/24: Dixie went to a foster home yesterday and is settling in well. She did great during the car ride from the vet’s office. She curled up, napped, and occasionally looked out the window. There are 2 other dogs in her foster home (one of whom she shares a name with and she is fitting in well. She was a little unsure at first but once everyone sniffed each other, it was like they were old pals. Dixie comes off a little shy/timid with people but opens up once she is comfortable. Overall she has been pretty easy going and a total sweetheart! She has thoroughly enjoyed living the good life so far and being able to take a snooze in a comfy bed whenever she wants. She also never turns down a good ear or chin scratch… She just wants to be loved on! The shelter reported she is good with kids and we were able to test her with an infant and Dixie acted like a perfect little lady around her . Speaking of babies, we do know that Dixie has had at least one puppy of her own, who was adopted from the shelter just prior to Dixie being rescued. Dixie has since been spayed and is recovering nicely. She appears to be potty trained and has manners. She can sit and shake and then sometimes she’ll get really excited and throw both paws in the air. It is so cute! She is such a happy girl with a tail that never stops wagging. The brindle coloring on her coat is beautiful and she is a nice, medium size dog. Something tells us this cutie pie isn’t going to be available long.
