Happy Gotcha Day Dozer!
MEET DOZER!! Dozer is a handsome 1.5-2 year old black lab who is your definition of a typical lab. Dozer ended up at the shelter after being picked up as a stray, but no one came to claim him and his time was running out. LFS came to get him just in time. Dozer is a bundle of energy, but being locked up in a cage at the shelter for a while, Dozer’s energy has built up and he was just raring to go, so we can’t really blame him. He could likely use a refresher coarse on obedience, but he seems to be very ball/toy motivated, so it shouldn’t be a problem.
When Dozer first arrived to LFS, he had an ear hematoma, but our vet has since repaired it and he is recovering well. We don’t think Dozer even noticed anything happened, as you can see from the pictures, because he’s still playing fetch with the cone of shame on!! He only has to wear it for a little while longer, and then he’ll be a “free” man.
Dozer is such a happy guy who loves to run around and play fetch. He would love a family with a fenced-in backyard or someone who could take him for long walks or runs. We really feel that he would do best with an active family who can give him the exercise he needs.
Unfortunately, we are also in desperate need of fosters, so Dozer has to stay in boarding at the vet’s office ☹️, which isn’t helping his pent up energy. Once he has a chance to get out and about, we have faith that he will settle down well.

Foster update 10/29: Dozer is a happy energetic 1.5 – 2 year old black lab. He has spent most of his life outdoors without a lot of structure so he is currently in training working on his social skills as well as basic obedience. He is a work in progress but is responding well to his training. He is an energetic dog but settles well and loves attention and has no problem rolling over for a nice belly rub. He has no problem with introductions to new people and presently working on sit, down, finding his place and leash walking.
We are interested in Dozer. Is he still available and where is he located.
Hi Vicki,
Yes he is still available. All of our dogs are fostered in the Atlanta area. If you are interested in adopting him please go ahead and fill out the application. Once approved you can set up an appointment to meet him.
Thanks!
