Meet Kennedy. We think he is around 5 years old and he likes the attention of other dogs. He loves to cuddle and loves to sleep with you. He is housebroken and he doesn’t chew anything that he isn’t supposed to. He knows some basic training including learning to wait for his dinner. He bonds easily with his family members and he will follow you around to make sure you are okay. Kennedy will chase cats so not cats in the house for Mr Kennedy. Kennedy is super sweet but the adoption day environment is at times too much for him so he shows better at individual appointments. He is a great dog looking for a family with lots of love to give.
UPDATE FROM FOSTER MOM – AN INTERVIEW WITH KENNEDY:
M: What is your favorite time of the day?
K: I love anytime that my fosters are awake. I love to follow them around and keep an eye on them. I wouldn’t say that I am nosy but it is more like I didn’t have a great life before being rescued and I just enjoy their company.
M:What is your favorite hobby?
K: That one is easy. When I see my fosters get my harness I go a little crazy. I just love to walk.
M:What are you good at?
K:Well I don’t mean to brag, woof woof, but I am great at giving affection. I actually learned my technique from watching the cats in the shelter. I was in there for quite some time and I noticed that they rubbed up again people and that people liked it. I tried it on my new master and sure enough, they think I am adorable. I have mastered it, especially at bed time.
M:What makes you special?
K: My personality of course! I have a deep bark but am gentle and loving. I like to go with the flow. My other pack members really like me. The little dogs that are short with the long bodies sleep all the time so I just ignore them. My buddy is a black dog with long hair and is about my size. I like to play with her. She likes to get me to chase her around and it is so much fun.
M:Do you have anything else to tell anyone that might want to adopt you?
K: Yes, I just want to be loved. I know the people that are fostering me right now love me and wish they could keep me but if they do that then they can’t help other dogs like me. I heard my fosters talking about me the other day and they said that they lucked out on their first foster because I am so special and good. I try really really hard. I don’t chew things that I am not supposed to. I don’t go to the bathroom in the house because that is just gross. I will sleep on the bed with you if you let me. I like to cuddle first and then I will go to the bottom of the bed and stay there all night. Okay, I will admit I can be a little lazy and sometimes they have to coax me off the bed in the morning but I only do it because it is so comfy. Also, when my fosters leave the house they don’t even put me in my crate anymore. They have to with 2 of their dogs but they let Peyton and me stay out and we are so good. We never ever get into any trouble and we are so excited to see them when they come home. If you see me and like me, please please just take the time to meet me. I am not a big kisser but I make up for it in cuddling.
Do you know if Kennedy is good with children? I have four year old twin boys. We are looking for a pet that is a little older, so we are past the puppy stages. We would like a dog that will want to play with the boys from time to time, but isn’t a constant ball of energy.
