 Happy Gotcha Day Lexi!
MEET LEXI: Sweet Lexi was found in the woods behind someone’s home in eastern Tennessee almost 2 weeks ago. She was doing an amazing job taking care of her babies in less than ideal conditions, so when LFS heard about her we knew we had to help. Lexi is about 2 1/2 years old, the biggest love bug ever, and such a good mama. We named her Lexi because it means ‘protector’, and she did an excellent job protecting and caring for her pups. Unfortunately, she is HW positive and will need to undergo treatment when she is done caring for her puppies. Stay tuned in the coming days and weeks for additional information and updates about this beautiful girl and her babies.
*Her 10 (yes, 10!!) adorable puppies – 6 girls (Hailley, Lovebug, Muffin, Chloe, Georgia, and Zooey) and 4 boys (Hank, Skeeter, Champ and Taco) were all adopted!

FOSTER UPDATE 11/20/16: We took Lexi to go visit our grandmother at the assisted living home today. Save to say that she made some new friends. They have asked us to bring her back next weekend for another visit. No one could believe that someone would abandon such a sweet dog in the woods with 10 little puppies. Not only is lexi gentle around people but she is completely house trained and great on a leash. She knows all of her commands and will even go lay down on her bed when asked. She is such a blessing and brings such a positive vibe into our home. Please consider giving lexi her forever home.

FOSTER UPDATE 11/08/16: We just picked Lexi up. She was well behaved but so scared to get in the car and during the drive home. As soon as we walked into the house she was a completely different dog. Her tail hasn’t stopped wagging since we walked in the door. She will sit immediately for a treat. She would also be the definition of a family dog. She likes to know what everyone is doing in the house. Very tolerant and LOVES attention. She will knudge you as soon as you stop petting her. She is so sweet! We will try to get some good pictures today for an update (:

UPDATE 09/22/16: Lexi’s pups are starting to head to foster homes so she’ll get a chance to recover from her heartworm.  If you can provide Lexi a calm, relatively quiet foster home during her treatment, please visit https://labradorfriends.com/foster-2/.  Lexi is a very gentle, submissive girl. She is always laying on her back wanting her tummy to be rubbed!  She knows how to sit and goes potty outside. If you are interested in adopting Lexi, please visit labradorfriends.com/how-to-adopt to fill out an application, or email labfriendinfo@gmail.com if you are already approved. Thanks!
