Happy Gotcha Day. 
Lightening is a 4-5 years old lady. Her owners were moving away when they found out she was heartworm positive. Not knowing what to do they wanted to put her down. The vet who saw her thought that she deserves to live so they took ownership of the dog and they asked us to find her a new home. Lightening was HW treated and she is now completely recovered and as good as new. She is very sweet, easy going, and completely housebroken. She gets along great with other dogs too.
UPDATE FROM FOSTER MOM: Lightning LOVES her car rides and walks. She likes to ride up front and sits like a person. She is perfect on the leash during jogs/runs and trots right along beside me. If we’re just walking, she will pull if she sees something interesting like another dog, but we’re working on learning she can’t say hi to everyone! She takes treats out of your hand very nicely (see video) which is great if you have little kids. She follows me from room to room and loves being petted, but if you ignore her, she just goes and lays down somewhere. She “asks for permission” to get on the furniture so I think it’s easy to keep her off if you don’t dogs on the furniture. She loves to play fetch and will run all around when we’re outside, but she’s very calm inside. She knows sit, down, and shake, but she’s better at listening inside the house when there aren’t lots of distractions.

Has she been checked for diabetes? Just wondering if the excess drinking could be medical??
We have an 8 yr old lab going through the heart worm treatments right now and the vet said that the medications that they have her on makes her terribly thirsty. We only had her a few days before we found out that she was heart worm positive and they started her treatment a week later, but we could tell a huge difference in the amount of water she drank before versus now in just that short of time. Is lightening still undergoing treatment? I see comments about her from jan and feb but haven’t seen her pic posted before…. I don’t think!
Sorry not she is done. She was adopted in February but her new owner has changed job and he travels too much to have a dog. I will fix her post.

Does she like cats?
Does she leash well, no pulling? How big is she?
There have been mixed reviews on her with cats. It seems best for her to go to a home without cats. She will pull on the leash during walks when she wants to see/smell something. She’s approximately 75-80 pounds right now but she needs to lose a few pounds.
I would like to meet her. I assume she’s available still? I would also like to know how she would do with another big dog (95 pds).
