MEET MANNY!! Manny is a handsome male yellow lab who we estimate to be around 8 years old. He was just rescued from a shelter with his 2 “siblings,” Bo and Bellamy. Unfortunately their owner passed away, so their lives were turned upside down and they were understandably very confused at the shelter. Manny is a loving, mellow guy. Don’t get him wrong, he’s still happy to play fetch with you, but he’s also content to just stand there while you give him some lovin’. He is kind of a big goof, and he lopes around in the cutest way. Manny is a bigger guy at around 80 pounds, but he’s a gentle boy. He walks well on the leash and doesn’t pull. He seems to get along fine with other dogs and wanted to say hello to all the dogs on the other side of the fence at the shelter. Manny’s fur is bleached out as if he spent a lot of time outside in his past. He also seems to have some skin allergies that we are working on treating. With some proper nutrition and time inside, his skin and coat should improve soon.
Unfortunately after doing some routine bloodwork before his neuter, we found that Manny is anemic and has low protein levels. Our vets are currently investigating the cause, and we hope that we can find the issue quickly so we can get Manny back in good health. If you’d like to help us find out what’s wrong with Manny, please consider visiting https://www. labradorfriends.com/donate-2/ to donate to his care. He says thank you with a big old doggy kiss!
