Rugar arrived to LFS last week and is the best boy! He loves attention and people. He is great with kids and has done well around other dogs!
Animal control reached out to us after finding this boy as a stray. He seems to have a calm temperament and is also on the shy side.

 

He is around 1 year old and such a good boy. He has been great with my 8 year old hugging all over him. He takes treats nicely from the kids too. He is a bit skinny right now – he is probably around 60 lbs and would need to gain at least 10-15 more. He does do a bit of counter surfing but I’m not surprised with his ribs showing. He seems very receptive when we tell him “Off”.  

 

He walks nicely on the leash and doesn’t react when other dogs bark at him.  He has been in a crate when we leave the house. He rides in a crate in the car too but he probably would be fine without the crate.  He hasn’t shown interest in toys, but he likes to roll around in the backyard.  

 

Rugar has heartworm and has started treatment. He will need to stay calm for the next few months.  For now, he is pretty content laying on the couch with us and taking short walks in the neighborhood.  He is a very easy going guy that could fit into most homes.  So far he is calmer than the average 1 year old lab mix.
