Happy Gotcha Day Shania!
MEET SHANIA!! Shania is a beautiful girl who was previously adopted from LFS but unfortunately it just didn’t end up being a good fit. While we previously estimated Shania to be younger, additional exams from our veterinarians give us reason to believe she may be closer to 6 or 7 years old. Shania is asuper sweet girl with a lot of love to give. She can be wary of some strange men and will need to go to a family that understands that. It is possible she had a bad experience with men in the past, but we just have no way of knowing. She does seem to prefer women and bonds quickly to her “person.” Shania is an average sized lab, around 63 pounds. She is a smart girl who knows sit, down, and stay and walks well on the leash. She has been through doggie boot-camp now too. She is kennel-trained and appears to be house-trained for the most part, but she may need a bit of a refresher after having been in boarding for a little while. Shania gets along fine with most dogs, but a proper introduction is key. She was tested with cats in the past and ignored them. She is a typical lab who loves to play and carry toys around. She likes to play outside and would probably make a great walking or adventure partner for someone! She even ventured onto the shallow ledge in the doggy pool at the vet’s office to retrieve a toy, so she may be a great potential lake buddy for someone too!
**Shania needs a foster home!! She would love to find a foster home where she can stay until she gets adopted. If you’d like to foster Shania, click here: https://www.labradorfriends. com/foster-2/!!

Hello,
I’m inquiring on the status of Shania. Is she still available for adoption?
Thank you,
Julie Kovach
Yes she is still available.
Hello,
Would she be comfortable being left alone for 4-5 hours a day given free range of the House? Would she be fine without a fenced backyard if given proper daily exercise? And finally, does she display any signs of arthritis or hip dysplasia? I.e. will she be fine walking up and down stairs daily?
Thank you!
She’s lovely and I think she might be a great fit if the above things aren’t a problem 🙂
