This is Tippy Tulip, Bonnie’ sister. These two sisters are very cute and very luck a good samarithan decided to stop for them. Let’s make sure they get the perfect home for a new start on life! The puppies are currently around 8 weeks old.
FROM FOSTER MOM: On Sunday, February 24, I was driving from the farm to my house 15 miles away. There are some dumpsters where the dirt road meets the pavement. As I approached the dumpsters I saw a motionless puppy in the middle of the paved road. I pulled over, and got out of my car. I then saw more puppies running away and under an old abandoned shack across the paved road. I wrapped the lifeless puppy in a towel and put him in my car. I found no pulse. I drove to the house of the man who owns the land where the puppies were hiding out. He told me that someone had dumped the puppies there a day or two before. He gave me permission to rescue them from his property. I named the deceased puppy Eagle Scout, and gave him a proper burial. I rescued four puppies from the shack. 3 black, 1 yellow Lab, pure or mixed. 1 male, 3 females. I was able to find a good home for the male, Coal Minor, and the yellow female, Lily Magnolia. I took custody of Bonnie Belle and Tippy Tulip, and surrendered ownership to LFS. The rest is “herstory.”
UPDATE FROM FOSTER MOM: My original personality assessment is holding true. Tippy is people-oriented and seeks approval and attention from them. She can’t get enough belly rubs. She enjoys having her ears and teeth cleaned, and daily grooming. She loves big bear hugs, and even being held in my lap (although this is getting harder because she is growing so fast). To make sure that she is getting the socialization that she needs, I have enrolled her in a group puppy basic training course at our local PetSmart, starting this Saturday. I’ll keep you posted. Tippy loves to play with other dogs and will carry toys around waiting for someone to play with her. She sleeps through the night without accidents and she is progressing very well in her potty training. She also knows sit. She is just a happy, well mannered puppy.
What an incredibly beautiful puppy Tippy is. We have two dogs: Seamus, a border collie/blue heeler 1 yr. old male and Bens, a yellow lab with pink nose and lemon eyes. I just adore them and wish we could bring this little girl into the fold. We are in PA though. I really hope she gets a good home and soon; Please keep me posted. Thansk to her foster mom for saving she and her kin–good job!
How old is Tippy now? Is she still available for adoption or has she become a permanent part of your family now? Thank you.
She is around 4 months and yes she is still available for adoption. Elena
Actually I think she may be around 3 months. I need to check her vet record. Elena
Tippy was about 6 weeks old on Feb 24, so she is now about 12 weeks. She had her 2nd puppy shots on Mar 29; on that date she weighed about 19 lbs. Lab puppies on average gain about 2 lbs a week until they are full grown.
Is she still available for adoption?
