Happy Gotcha Day Uma!
Meet UMA! Uma a beautiful, 5 year old, 80lb girl. Her owner was heartbroken to part with her but he could no longer take care of her in the way she deserved and he wanted the best for her. Uma loves walks, retrieving and swimming. She is great with kids and other dogs. She likes to play, but settles nicely. She is a smart girl, knows some basic commands and is completely house trained. Uma is medium energy and just an all around great dog. If you would like to adopt Uma and give her a forever home she deserves fill out the adoption form here.
We traveled 14 hours round trip for Thanksgiving and Uma was great. This is how she rode most of the trip.

We have an adoption day next Saturday Oct 17th at Ell’s Run which is being held in Buford at Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center.

Uma sounds like a good fit for our family and our LFS dog Navy (formally Lolly). Does she ride well in the car? We prefer to take our dogs with us when we travel. Our application is approved and we would like to meet her if she is still available.

I live on the Gulf Coast in Mississippi. I would very much like to meet Uma if she is still available. I have a 2 y/o yellow lab now. Do you transport or do I need to drive to your location? Cummings, Ga. is quite a hike from here so If there is a way to meet half way so I don’t waste my time and yours that would be great.

Once approved you can set up a time to come up to the Atlanta area to meet her. We do require that all family members including dogs are at the meeting.

If Uma is still available, my husband and I would love to see if she would be a good fit for our home. We are wanting a mature dog. We have no children or animals, though we do have small grandchildren (three little girls) that come over once in awhile (so she will be well loved). Our yard is completely fenced in and she will have free reign to run around the backyard and come and go as she pleases. Uma will have the house to herself during some days, so am curious if she has separation anxiety or house training issues. We live in Cumming. We still have heard nothing from the adoption center. What does it take to be approved? In the meantime, we will continue to look for another dog.

Hi Susan, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Uma did see a cat this past weekend and wanted to sniff it, that cat was scared of her tho and ran away. She didn’t want to chase after it or anything so it seems that she will be fine with them just like she is with dogs 🙂
