Happy Gotcha Day Zara!

MEET ZARA!! Zara is a beautiful, 8 month old female lab mix who just came to LFS. She was an owner surrender to the shelter after they couldn’t care for her anymore. Zara is a petite girl at 36 pounds. She might grow a little bit bigger but probably won’t exceed 45-50 pounds. Zara is a super friendly dog and has been an absolute sweetheart with everyone she’s met! She even “smiles” sometimes. Being a young dog, Zara does have a lot of puppy energy, but she does settle once she’s had the chance to play and run for a little while. She’s a total cuddle bug and stole the hearts of our vet staff instantly!
Zara is a super smart girl and should be easy to train. She already knows sit and is pretty attentive when you walk her, so I think she is eager to please. Because she gets so excited when she meets new people, Zara does jump up sometimes. We’re working on curbing that behavior, and she’s already learning!
Zara’s previous owners said she was housebroken. While we haven’t had her in a foster home yet to confirm that, she does appear to be crate trained!
Zara seems to love other dogs and just wanted to play with the others at the shelter. We were told she gets along with cats as well.
