Meet JETHRO. Jethro, or “Jett” for short, is a handsome 8 year old lab. He’s a gentle giant, but we are working on getting some weight off of him. He is very laid back and listens well. He appears to be housebroken (as well as crate trained) and hasn’t shown any desire to chew on anything or mess with anything he’s not supposed to. He walks well on the leash and rides well in the car. He loves any form of affection you’ll give him, and he’s happy to just hang out around you.

FOSTER UPDATE: Today we found out that Jethro has some arthritis in his elbows and lower back, so he is now taking joint supplements and may need to be on them for the rest of his life. Because of this, he is currently on a diet to help alleviate some of the pressure on his joints.  In addition, it appears that someone may have mistreated our sweet boy at some point in his life, as the vet found some embedded BB pellets in his hindquarters. However, the vet has assured us that Jett cannot feel them, and he probably does not even realize they are there. That being said, none of this deters him from being the happy, sweet, amazing boy that he is.
In the time that he has lived with me, Jethro has yet to meet a stranger, and I have not heard him bark at all. He does not tear or chew anything up (except for a tasty bone of course), and he is 100% housebroken. He does not jump up on the furniture and only jumps up on my bed to sleep if asked to do so. Jethro is a quiet shadow and will follow you around the house just to be with you. He has shown no aggression to the couple of dogs that he’s come into contact with. Jett’s interests include fun car rides, daily walks through the neighborhood, never-ending belly rubs, and lounging around the house. Anyone that adopts this boy and gives him a forever home to live out his oncoming golden years will surely be a hero in his mind and will receive endless love in return. He certainly deserves it.
FOSTER UPDATE 2: Jethro is doing wonderful! He has a spring in his step again and he’s gained back a bit of his “puppy” self. Today we went to a waterfall and Jett enjoyed discovering all the new smells and hanging out on the beach. He even waded into the water and swam around! We also met a nice little terrier, which he didn’t mind. And of course Jett made some new people friends…who doesn’t love a big friendly lab.
