Happy Gotcha Day Sweet Lincoln!
FOSTER UPDATE!!! Lincoln is doing FABULOUSLY in his foster home. He is a curious boy who loves to run and play outside. He will likely do best in a home with a fenced yard, or with a family that can exercise him daily. He is housetrained and really enjoys being with his person. He loves to snuggle in and have his belly rubbed after tiring himself out playing. Lincoln had a bit of separation anxiety when he first arrived at his foster home, but within 5 days, he has settled in and is much more relaxed when his foster dad leaves for work, so it appears he’s getting more comfortable with the fact that when people leave, they will come back. His foster has been working on his leash manners and he is learning very quickly as he’s already walking much, much better – he’s not pulling nearly as much. Lincoln is a sweet boy who is thriving with structure, a bit of training, and love. He is very smart and eager to please his people. He will make a great addition to an active family.
LINCOLN UPDATE Lincoln still needs a foster home. He is a 55lb. 1.5 – 2 year old lab/pointer mix who is a very sweet boy who loves to snuggle. He is GREAT with kids and loves to be with his people – no cats though as he thinks it’s fun to chase them. Lincoln was rescued from the streets of Savannah over the summer and has been in boarding (with a few brief breaks from it) ever since. He is a young, active dog that would be a fabulous hiking or running partner – a perfect match for an active family.
Is Lincoln still available? Has he been exposed to children?

Where is he currently? We live an hour south of Savannah, but would love to met him to see how the boys are with him.

Is he leash trained or know any basic commands? What about house and/ or crate trained?

Mary, he is at a training facility now learning some basic commands and doggie manners.
He is house trained and is very athletic. He is not a fan of the crate most likely due to being in boarding for quite some time. He is a very sweet boy!
We are currently in application process and every time we look at Lincoln. We all seem to be drawn to him. Do you know if he is any better with cat issue? We are looking for a family pet that will snuggle on the couch or love to play outside. We don’t plan on using a crate. Any information will be appreciated! !! Thanks!

I have met him a few times and can tell you that he is very sweet. We will have more info once we can get him into a foster home. 🙂 I will also keep in mind to get in touch with you with any additional info we find out.

Oh darn, my daughter is home from college this weekend so that we could all meet Lincoln and the other dogs tomorrow. I will email Erin to see if there is anyway we can meet Lincoln this weekend.

So very happy for Lincoln! He was an amazing experience for me on my first venture into fostering. I couldn’t have asked for anything more from the little guy! I know he’s going to be happy in his new home but he always has a special place in my heart!
