Happy Gotcha Day Bagherra!

Meet BAGHERRA!!! Bagherra is a handsome boy who just joined us from an Atlanta area shelter. He is 6-7 months old and just the sweetest little guy. He is 48lbs right now, but when full-grown he will be about 60lbs. He was very well behaved on his freedom ride and is already a favorite with the staff at the clinic where he is being vetted. Bagherra already knows ‘sit’, loves to cuddle, walks well on a leash, and is very food motivated. He will be heading to his foster home this week, so stay tuned to learn more about him.

Foster update 06/04: Bagheera is doing so well in his foster home!  We all love him so much!  Even our grouchy Pyrenees likes to play with him!  He walks really well on the leash & is learning house manners quickly.  At first he didn’t like getting in the car, but we take him with us everywhere, so now he jumps in happily!  He is learning to like the crate, too.  We crate him at night & when we’re gone, since he is still a puppy & likes to chew.  He really likes soft toys & will carry them around with him & pile them on his bed… So cute… he even uses one as a pillow sometimes.  So far, he hasn’t met a stranger – he gets along with new dogs he meets on our walks, loves people (big & little), and even gets along with our cat.  He’s a good puppy – not crazy, but still playful & very responsive to verbal correction.  He’ll make a great addition to any family or a person looking for a faithful companion!

Foster update 05/26: He’s finally worn out from playing!  He discovered the toy bin & took out all the stuffed animals.  We have had a blast with him today!  Tomorrow, we’ll take Bagheerah to the barn & introduce him to horses.  He did so good with our other dog, who isn’t always thrilled about sharing her space, and sniffed the cat, but seemed pretty uninterested.  He’s truly a gem!
