Happy Gotcha Day Blondie!

Meet Blondie

Meet Miss Blondie.  She is est 5 years old.  She is heartworm positive.  Also very under weight.

Update: Thanks to foster mom Trish for giving Miss Blondie her freedom ride from shelter to vet. Many times in the rescue world, we find ourselves shaking our heads and asking “why?” This is one of those cases. This wonderful, sweet little girl is Blondie. Blondie was rescued from an animal cruelty situation by a local animal shelter. She was previously tied outside with just 4 feet to move and no access to food or water. She was neglected and starved, and while the shelter was able to start the refeeding process, Blondie still needs to gain 15-20 lbs. She is heartworm positive because she was not given any heartworm prevention and covered in fleas. Not surprisingly, Blondie has not let any of this bring her down (because we don’t deserve dogs and they are better than some humans), and she is the sweetest little nugget who just wants to give you kisses. She has the most expressive, beautiful eyes that just grab your heart and don’t want to let go. Blondie is currently at our vet’s office getting a full evaluation, starting treatment for her heartworms, and determining the best dietary plan. Her new life has just begun, and we can’t wait to see how she blossoms.

Heartworm treatment and care for a malnourished dog can quickly add up in expense.
