Happy Gotcha Day Baby!

MEET CRYBABY!  Cry Baby is about 5 years old and ready for a new start in life. He and his brother were rescued from a neglect case and ended up at the shelter together. His brother was adopted, but Cry Baby is still looking for his forever home. He is a super sweet, loving boy. He has been doing really well on his diet and has now lost 12 pounds!! He loves to be outside and actually really enjoys going for a walk. Cry Baby was a little shy and unsure around other dogs when he first came to us, but he has since come out of his shell and actually does great with others! We have introduced him to doggie daycare at the vet’s office where he’s boarding, and so far he seems to love it! As you can see from the pictures, he made friends with Truman super fast! Cry Baby does well in the car and hops in no problem. He is crate trained, but we’re not sure about house training quite yet, as we haven’t been able to get him into a foster home 🙁

CRY BABY NEEDS A FOSTER HOME!! If you’d be interested in fostering, visit https://www.labradorfriends.com/foster-2/. He will need a foster home that is willing to continue his diet and give him regular exercise.

UPDATE: This handsome man has been with us a few days now and is starting to come out of his shell more and more. We spent some time outside, and he definitely enjoyed being in the sunshine. He even ran around some! He is such a sweetie and loves a good back scratch.

Cry Baby has started his diet and is doing great so far; he’s lost 3 pounds! He’s still got a ways to go, but we think he’ll reach his goal in no time.

Cry Baby is looking for a foster or forever home where he can continue his diet and exercise. He is a little unsure of other dogs right now so we think he would do best in a foster home with another submissive dog or without other pets. In the meantime, we are working on building his confidence and socializing him more with others. Stay tuned for updates!

UPDATE 08/02/18: This is what a proper diet and exercise can do!! Cry Baby (who we just call Baby) has lost a whopping 16 pounds and is now approaching his ideal weight!! Baby has gone from 112 to 96 pounds, so he is still a big boy, but his weight now matches his stature. He no longer struggles to move around and has gotten some energy back too! Watching him be able to run around the yard now is one of the most rewarding things!

Baby is still looking for a foster or forever home! While he enjoys being in doggie daycare everyday, he would love nothing more than to be able to have a home where he can be more comfortable and learn that life has plenty of treasures left in it.
