Happy Gotcha Day, Deacon!!

Update from Deacon’s Foster Parents: Deacon is doing great in his foster home and loving playing with his foster sister. We call him the gentle lion as he is a big boy with big paws. He loves to play, chase the ball and just be loved. He likes going on walks and loves to snuggle too. He has a sweet personality but is very playful, always wanting to play like a puppy. He is totally potty trained and we are working on commands, but he will not do well in a crate at all. He hates the crate. At night he sleeps on his doggie bed in the master bedroom with his foster brother and foster sister.

Meet Deacon. He is a sweet, loving 2 years old. He was pulled from a hoarding situation only to find out that he was heartworm positive.  He was treated and he is now doing great. He lost some weight from the stress of being in boarding but now that he is in a foster home he will gain it all back  in a short time. Once he fills back in, he should be between 85 and 90 pounds. While big he is also a love bug so we can call him our gentle giant. Deacon is still a little shy but he is slowly coming out of his shell. He is already very attached to foster mom and does not leave her side. Deacon does not like to be alone so he will need either someone who is home most of the time or other dogs in the house to keep him company. He does not like the crate.

UPDATE FROM FOSTER MOM: Hes doing great and laying next to my bed sleeping! Hes a great dog. He is doing well with my dogs so far.  He is still a little shy but he is already relaxing. We will keep you posted.
