Happy Gotcha Day Delilah!

MEET DELILAH! This precious girl is an 8 week old Lab/Australian Shepherd mix who has found herself in a pretty tough situation. Unfortunately Delilah was a Christmas present, purchased from a flea-market and given to a nice family who weren’t planning on getting a dog. When Delilah stopped eating over the weekend and got very sick, she was taken to the vet and diagnosed with dreaded parvo. Like many surprise pet parents, Delilah’s family was not prepared for this medical emergency, so they decided to relinquish her. When we received the desperate plea for help for sweet baby Delilah, we knew we had to act fast. Parvo is a very contagious virus that can quickly become life threatening, and Delilah needed emergency intensive hospitalization and life supportive fluids. She was placed in the ICU at our vet’s office and is now on 24/7 IV fluids and several medications to try to help her fight as best as she can. By this evening, she started to wag her tail and even ate a little bit for the wonderful vet techs taking care of her.

Even at just 3.5 pounds, tiny Delilah is proving to be a fighter, and she deserves the chance to live. We will do all we can to help this little girl, but we need your help. Delilah’s medical bills have already reached just over $500. With every day she is hospitalized, the total only grows.

Please, please, if you are able, even if it’s just $1, help us give Delilah the Christmas miracle she deserves and donate to her care. Every penny will be used in the effort to save her life and give her a chance to find a loving family in the future that can show her how great life can be. She will surely appreciate it, as well as everyone at LFS!

**ATTENTION** EVERY DOLLAR WILL BE MATCHED UP TO $1000. Donate, please help us today.

Update 01/13/2017:

Dear Lab Friends-
Thank you for getting me the medical care I needed and finding me a foster family. I love my foster Lab brothers and cat brother. Here are some pictures so that you will see I am having a great time here. I love my backyard!  My foster brothers have taught me how to run around and chase them – this is so much fun!  My foster mom says I am very intelligent- She says I am already walking on a leash very well for a beginner and I really impressed her with going up and down some stairs. I love to cuddle and do well with staying in my corral and crate. I am pretty good at potty training as well.
Thank you so much Lab Friends and Sugar Hill Animal Hospital for taking such great care of me!

Delilah (Foster Mom is calling me Little Girl and that’s OK with me

Update 01/13/2017: Look who got her first bath today!! Delilah is just the sweetest little thing!! She is blossoming into a great little pup, and while she enjoys all the attention from the vet techs, she would LOVE to get to go to a foster home until she finds her forever home. She is not on any medications anymore and is your typical, happy go lucky puppy!
