Happy Gotcha Day Dixie Rose!

MEET DIXIE ROSE!  She is an absolute sweetheart but is working through some trust and confidence issues.  She is about 3 years old.  We think she would do best in a forever home with another dog(s), as she has picked up on some cues from the other fur babies in her foster home in just the few days that she’s been there. Loud noises and sudden movements stress her out so we’d also recommend no small children. Needless to say, she was not a happy camper on the 4th of July once the fireworks started but we got her through it. She is slowly showing us more of her personality each day so stay tuned for more updates on this precious girl!

Foster update 09/16/21: We have had Dixie Rose a couple months now and we have noticed an improvement in her confidence and started to see her come out of her shell. Anxiety is still a daily battle, but she is now taking meds to help with it, so it’s not as bad as it was in the beginning.

This sweet girl loves to be loved on  If we are petting one of our other dogs, she comes over and will paw or nudge your arm to pet her. It’s almost as if she’s saying “hey, let me get some of that too”. She loves to play outside with our dogs and especially loves to playing with balls. After seeing how much she has changed just being around other dogs, it’s clear that she need to go to a home with another confident dog who can continue showing her how to be a dog. Her forever home must also have a fenced yard for her to run around in.

We promise that if you can find it in your heart to look beyond her current challenges, you won’t regret it. She is truly one of the sweetest dogs we’ve ever fostered and so deserves to live the good life. She just needs someone willing to be patient with her while she figures out what the good life really is.
