Happy Gotcha Day Duchess!

MEET DUCHESS!! Hi!! My name is Duchess! I’m a very sweet, 2.5 year old girl. I would really, really love to find my forever home soon! I am so thankful that I was rescued from the shelter last summer, but I’ve been waiting for a home for a long time now.

I’m a super fun girl, and the nice people who rescued me say that I have a great personality. I love to run around and play, and I even like water so I could be your buddy for hiking or trips to the lake! I’m also happy to go for walks with you, and I’m a good girl on the leash. I know not to go potty in my crate or in the house, and I know lots of commands now. My rescuers let me go to a trainer so I could learn lots of things! I know sit, down, place, recall, no, and off, and I’m working on stay. I can still get excited sometimes because I’m a young girl, but my trainer says I am very smart and willing to learn. I LOVE people and meeting new ones! Unfortunately, I don’t really like to share; my trainer says I have shown some resource guarding, so I need to find a forever family that doesn’t have any other dogs or real small children. I am great with older kids and adults though!!

Sadly, I have had to stay in a kennel while my rescuers have been desperately searching for a foster home for me. I still don’t have a foster, so it would be really great if someone could take me in for a little while. Maybe you can help me? If you can open your heart and home to me, please send a message to my rescuers at labfriendinfo@gmail.com or stephcoppen@gmail.com.

If you want to let me be a member of your family, please visit labradorfriends.com/how-to-adopt. You can also email labfriendinfo@gmail.com to let my rescuers know you are interested in me! Thank you so much!

DUCHESS UPDATE 11/20!! Duchess is a very sweet and loving girl and enjoys spending time with people. She would probably be the best fit in a family with no small
children. She has been through a training program and enjoys pleasing people.

DUCHESS UPDATE!! Duchess has been staying with a trainer for the past couple weeks to just work on some general obedience and socialization. The trainer reports that, “Duchess is a really sweet dog who has done well with her training and is pretty good with all of her obedience work. She knows sit, down, place, recall, and she has been working on her “stay”. She is very well behaved on a 6ft leash and is great with meeting new people. She knows “no” and “off.” Duchess is still a young dog at around 2-2.5 years old, so she can get excited sometimes but she is very smart and willing to learn. She really is a great dog and I feel she would be a great addition to any happy family.”
