Happy Gotcha Day Feliz!

MEET FELIZ!! This handsome lab mix is about 5 years old and looking for his forever home. Feliz came to us from a shelter where he sadly spent a couple of months. I don’t know how anyone could overlook such a fantastic dog, but now he’s got a second chance with LFS. Feliz is a happy go lucky guy with a great personality. He loves to play fetch with toys and balls, but he’ll stop what he’s doing immediately if you give him one of his all time favorite things, a belly rub! He listens when called and knows “sit” and “wait.” Feliz just wants to be with his people and will follow you around. He always has a smile on his face and is happy to go wherever. He was an angel in the car from the shelter to the vet’s office. Feliz seems to get along well with other dogs, though a proper introduction is key. Dogs that rush into his face can overwhelm him. He was reported to have done well with children while at the shelter. We are unsure how he is with cats. He is crate trained, though we are unsure if he is housebroken yet.

Feliz unfortunately tested positive for heartworms, but we have started treatment and are working on getting those pesky worms out! If you have questions about heartworm treatment, please email labfriendinfo@gmail.com. To donate to Feliz’s care, visit labradorfriends.com/donate-2/. Thanks!

FELIZ NEEDS A FOSTER HOME!! This wonderful boy needs a comfy place to rest during his heartworm treatment, and while he is looking for his forever home. If you think that could be with you and your family, please visit labradorfriends.com/how-to-foster or email labfriendinfo@gmail.com if you’re already approved.

Foster Update 11/1/19: We have been fostering Feliz for almost a month now and he is just a big ol’ Teddy bear.  Feliz is about 5 years old and around 70 lbs. or so. He absolutely loves belly rubs and playing with toys, especially balls. He would chase them all day long if he could!  He gets along well with his 2 foster siblings and the other dogs he has met.  We were able to test him with a cat and although he was very curious, he did just fine. He also does well with children of all ages. When we brought Feliz home, he had a couple accidents in the house on the very first day but he has since learned to do all of his business outside.  He is crate trained and we recently started giving him free roam when we leave the house and so far so good . Oh and we also moved to a new house a couple weeks ago so it’s been a bit crazy to say the least, but Feliz has been such a trooper! He just goes with the flow.

This sweet, happy boy just wants someone to give him the love and attention he deserves so if you’re looking for a BFF, you just found him! Don’t miss your chance to make Feliz a part of your family!

Update 10/13/2019: Feliz just wants belly rubs all day long. He loves to play catch, but we are working on him bringing the ball back every time. Hes a very well manured guy and loves to work for treats. Feliz is a fairly calm boy who would love to lay like a couch potato all day long with you.
