Happy Gotcha Day Holly!

MEET HOLLY! Hi, My name is Holly! I just turned a year old this month! My previous owner is a law enforcement officer and often has to work very long shifts. It’s hard on me to be alone so much, and he wanted me to have a yard and family with a regular schedule, so he made the difficult decision to ask the rescue to find me a new forever home. So now I’m being fostered by kind family members with their 3 mini schnauzers. At their house, I have a yard and dog friends and a schedule, and it’s helped me a lot. They tell me I’m very smart and a super-fast learner.

I’m house trained (I have had ZERO accidents in the house) and I have not destroyed anything. But I’m still a puppy and I like to eat socks, so they have to be hidden away from me. I walk well on a leash and know some commands, including Look, Sit, Stay, Lay Down and Shake.

I love all other dogs, big and small! I would love another doggie friend to play with!

I am allowed to sleep in the bed at nighttime, and I do really well and sleep all night. I give the best, gentle nighttime and morning cuddles! I love to cuddle!

I’m currently working on my socialization skills. I get to go out with my foster parents and meet new people and visit new places so I can become more confident in unfamiliar circumstances. I’m doing really well so far and I hope that my new forever family will help keep up with my socialization.

When I’m not outside or playing, I can quietly lay on the floor and chew on my bones/toys for a couple of hours. I like to lay in my foster parents’ home office and keep them company during the day while they sit at their desk. I’m a great office pet! People ask how I do with cats. Truth is, I’ve never met one. I’ve seen through the window and sometimes I’ll bark. I’m sure they don’t smell like dogs and I don’t know how I would be with them up close and personal.
