Happy Gotcha Day Jim!

Meet Jim

He is settling back into being in our foster home. He is slowly coming out of his shell. Last night he showed us he knows how to sit and shake. He comes when called, and is completely housebroken. He plays well with other dogs and sleeps at the foot of our bed. We are enjoying watching him get more comfortable in our home. He has excellent car manners. He has good leash manners and likes to go for walks. He has definitely mellowed out now that he is about 18 months old. He is a bit insecure but we are working on that with him.

Foster update 07/11/2022: We are continuing to work with Jim on earning his trust and letting him know that not everything is scary. He loves other dogs, and is good on a leash, and is house broken. He knows several commands and just wants to be loved and to feel safe. We have made a lot of progress with Jim since March but he is still very very afraid of new people and unknown sounds. He would need a very patient adopter with a fenced in yard and at least one other dog to make him feel confident. He is best buds with LFS alum T-Rex in his foster home. He behaves when we leave the house and does best left uncrated. He also has gone to doggie daycare several times and very much enjoys the interaction with other dogs.

Foster update: Jim has finally relaxed since being back in our home. He knows sit, shake, down, and up. Does not get into trouble when not crated, is housebroken, and sleeps on our bed at night. Jim would do best in a home without small children because they seem to make him nervous. Jim does not like being alone and would do best in a home where his family would be home most of the time. He will need a patient and understanding family.
