Happy Gotcha Day Zoe!

Meet Zoe

Meet Miss Zoe she came in yesterday as an owner surrender.  Sadly we found out yesterday that she is a very strong heart worm positive which could be the real reason for the surrendering. She might like to run and play but now that she will be going through heart worm treatment she must stay pretty low key and relaxed.

I’m a sweet, loving black lab that is almost 4 years old.  I have been spayed and am up to date on my shots.  I enjoy fetching a ball, playing in water, running and exploring, squeaky toys, belly rubs, and lots of attention.  I get along well with other dogs but I can’t help myself when I see a cat, I like to chase it.  I also enjoy going for rides in the car.

I really need a home where I have space to run and explore and a human with time to spend with me.

We are looking for a very quite home where she can go through heartworm treatment.

Foster    Adopt

** Foster Needed ** Ms. Zoe is in need of a foster home!! Zoe has been left outside alone most of her life and would love a foster family that will continue to show her the ropes with this living inside thing  Zoe also would love to get out and start meeting new people and other dogs. With her past she’s a little socially awkward at first  She enjoys her training time, stuffed kong toys and all the walks. Ms. Zoe LOVES play time and will need another dog that can tolerate some antagonizing  Zoe really enjoys her outside time and would love an active family that can take her on walks or spend some time with her in the yard!  Zoe does very well in her crate and is an awesome car rider!

**Ms. Zoe is currently going through heart worm treatment. She is not contagious to any other animals but she needs to be limited from full running and any high activity to keep her heart rate down for just a few more months.

Foster update 09/13: on Miss Zoe is loving life! She loves being outside either rolling around in the grass or hanging out on the porch. This girl loves her walks and play time! Zoe’s all time favorite is when she can get her foster siblings to play tug of war with her. She is my little shadow and follows me all around the house. She has done very well off leash and around our chickens. This makes me think she would be good with cats as long as the cat can tolerate her playful nature Zoe has loved being apart of our family and has started to settle in. She would do best with a yard to play and older kids as she can play a little rough sometimes.

Foster update 08/26: Ms. Zoe enjoying a walk with her foster brother and sister. Zoe has done well with our dogs and enjoys playing and rough housing. She loves her Kong toys and goes straight to her kennel to wait for her meals. She has room to explore at our house and has done well off leash staying around the house. She has also made friends with our chickens and enjoys going over to check on them during her rounds Even though she is 4 years old she still acts just like a puppy and would do best with another playful dog and a owner that is able to work on a little more house manners. She is a sweet girl that loves being apart of the family .

Foster update 08/20:  has been settling in well. She has definitely adapted well to the country lifestyle . She has coexisted well with our chickens and other dogs. Zoe is extremely intelligent and loves her training time, responding very well to her commands. She would love an owner that will continue to work with her and challenge her. She doesn’t seem to have lived in a house before so she has had a few accidents and does a little bit of counter surfing . We have been working diligently on teaching this sweet girl some house manners and she has been making progress! Zoe loves to play and would do best with another playful companion and a big backyard with room to run. Even though Zoe is 4 years old, she still still has a puppy mentality  She doesn’t know her size and still does a little play biting so she would do best with older children. Zoe is a smart, sweet girl that rides very well in the car. She is currently going through heart-worm treatment so she will need to stay relatively calm through the next couple of months to fully heal, then she will be ready to run like the wind!
